Red Sonja

Red Sonja is a red-haired female warrior created by comic writer Roy Thomas in the 23rd volume of his graphic novel Conan the Barbarian. After her creation, Red Sonja was often a part of Conan's adventures and eventually had a graphic novel of her own, called Red Sonja.ComicVine: Red Sonja

Plot

At 17, Red Sonja lost her family to a pack of thieves. They killed her parents and her two brothers and took all that they owned. A goddess, Scathach, granted Red Sonja powerful sword and weaponry skills to seek out her revenge. The Chain Mail Bikini

Red Sonja was originally illustrated with a chain mail shirt and red shorts. A Spanish artist, named Esteban Maroto, submitted a drawing of Red Sonja that inspired her current outfit. In the comic series Savage Sword of Conan, Roy Thomas changed Red Sonja into her current appearance wearing the chain mail bikini.ComicVine: Red Sonja
