  • A study by the U.S. National Cancer Institute found that eating too much red meat "was associated with a modest increase in total mortality." The report was featured in the March 23, 2009 issue of the Archives of Internal Medicine.

    Research shows that consumption of red meat could lead to a variety diseases including heart disease, cancer, Alzheimer's disease, and peptic ulcers.
