Rebecca Bargy was sentenced to 18 months in prison on July 13, 2009, for the April 2008 killing her husband James Bargy. She was found guilty on May 20, 2009, of negligent homicide although she was originally charged with second-degree murder.

Police say that R. Bargy tied up her husband and left him for over 20 hours in the couple's mobile home without checking on him. R. Bargy was arrested and charged with reckless homicide. It is believed that R. Bargy and J. Bargy's marriage was on the rocks and J. Bargy had intentions of moving back to New York State.
