In April of 2009, McEntire hosted the 44th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards in Las Vegas, Nevada. It was McEntire's eleventh time to host the awards. During the show, McEntire performed her new single, "Strange."People: Reba McEntire: 'Girls Put on a Better Show' (April 3, 2009) On April 6, 2009—the day after the Awards—"Strange" was released. McEntire, who calls the song "a little bit different," was set to tour in the spring.
