2007 Season
Maui'a played in all 16 games with the Miami Dolphins in 2007, starting nine. He carried the ball four times over the course of three games for a total of five yards. He also finished with two receptions for five yards on the season. Maui'a's most productive game came against the Oakland Raiders on September 30, when he had two carries for five yards and one reception for five yards in a 35-17 Dolphins loss. 2008 Season
The Cincinnati Bengals signed Maui'a on September 3, three days after the Miami Dolphins waived him. Maui'a played in two games for Cincinnati, against the New York Giants on September 21 and the Cleveland Browns on September 28 but acquired no stats. The Bengals waived Maui'a on October 11 when kicker Shayne Graham sustained a groin injury and the team signed Dave Rayner. Cincinnati re-signed Maui'a on October 22, but he suffered a hamstring injury two days later and was placed on injured reserve.
