Ray Winstone is a British actor who has appeared in such films as The Departed, The Proposition, and Sexy Beast.
Early Life
Ray Winstone was born in Homerton, Hackney, an eastern part of London on February 19, 1957. He attended the school Edmonton County but later dropped out due to lack of interest. Winstone, who was a fan of boxing, joined the Repton Amateur Boxing Club at age twelve, later on becoming a Welterweight and London Schoolboy Champion three times. At the time, his record was 80 wins with only 8 losses which spanned over ten years.
Film Career
Ray Winstone has been in numerous big films and has played many tough guy roles such as Mr. French in 2006's Academy Award-winning film The Departed and other films that include his roles as Carlin in the 1976 film Scum and as the main character Gary 'Gal' Dove in the 2000 film Sexy Beast.
