Football Career
Edwards began his career playing college football with the Purdue Boilermakers Football in 2003. He finished his college career ranking seventh for all-time sacks for the Boilermakers and was on the watch list for the Ted Hendricks Defensive End of the Year Award in 2004 and 2005.Official Site of the Minnesota Vikings: Ray EdwardsHe was selected 127th overall in the 2006 NFL draft by the Minnesota Vikings. Edwards made his professional debut that same year, playing in 15 games and recording 10 tackles. In 2007, Edwards was limited to only 12 games and 30 tackles, after he was suspended for four games in December in violation of the league's substance abuse policy.
