Ray Allen is a shooting guard for the Boston Celtics. He is widely regarded as one of the best pure shooters in the NBA and also starred in director Spike Lee's critically acclaimed film He Got Game with Academy Award winner Denzel Washington.

Early Life
Walter Ray Allen was born in Merced, California, on July 20, 1975. He attended Hillcrest High School, then the University of Connecticut. He would go on to become an First Team All-American, as well as win the Big East Player of the Year award.
Pro Career
Allen was selected with the fifth pick in the 1996 draft by the Minnesota Timberwolves. They then immediately traded him to the Milwaukee Bucks for the rights to Stephon Marbury. He would make the NBA's All-Rookie Second Team in 1996. In the years following, he would continue to establish himself as an elite player, winning the 2001 NBA Three-point Shootout competition and earning a selection to the All-NBA third team. In 2002, he was traded to the Seattle SuperSonics for Gary Payton and Desmond Mason. He would win the NBA Sportsmanship Award in 2003, and be named to the All-NBA Second Team in 2005. On June 28, 2007, he was traded along with Glen Davis to the Boston Celtics for Delonte West, Wally Szczerbiak and Jeff Green.
