Rashard Lewis

Rashard Quovon Lewis was born in Pineville, Louisiana on August 8, 1979. Lewis has a twin sister named Kristen; she played for the Alief Elsik High School girls’ team. Rashard also has two brothers as well. Lewis attended Alief Elsik High School in Texas. Rashard was highly recruited by colleges such as: Florida State, Kansas, and Houston. In 1998, Lewis decided to forgo college and declared himself eligible for the NBA draft. Lewis was selected by the Seattle SuperSonics with the thirty-second pick in the NBA draft. He was the last player in the “green room”. His was disappointed when his hometown team (Houston Rockets) did not select him. Since the draft Lewis has had a nice NBA Career to this day. He has had two All-Star berths and was selected to play for the USA in the Goodwill Games. They won medal that year as well.

In the 2009-2010 season Rashard Lewis has helped the Orlando Magic become a powerhouse in the NBA. After playing nine seasons in Seattle, Rashard signed with the Orlando Magic and has helped turn around the franchise. In 2008-2009 season the Magic went to the NBA finals before losing to the Los Angeles Lakers. However, in the 2009-2010 season Lewis has helped the Orlando Magic back into the conversation of contenders, The Magic finished the season with a record of 59-23 and second best in the Eastern Conference. They finished behind the Cleveland Cavaliers. Rashard Lewis has played in 72 games and starting every one of them. He served a 10 games suspension for using performance drugs to begin the season. He has averaged 14.1 points per game, 4.4 rebounds and 1.5 assists a game. He also has started every game for the Magic in the Post-Season, trying to help his team get back to the NBA Finals.
