Wrestling Career
Savage debuted with the WWE in 1985 with his manager (and wife), Miss Elizabeth. He defeated Tito Santana early the next year for the Intercontinental Title. At WrestleMania III, Savage lost the belt to Ricky Steamboat in what both critics and fans consider one of the greatest matches in professional wrestling history. The following year at WrestleMania IV, Savage won the WWE Championship after winning a 16-man tournament. He held the title for a year before losing it to Hulk Hogan at WrestleMania V.
After two heated feuds with Jake Roberts and Ric Flair, Savage jumped to rival organization WCW in 1994, where he resumed his rivalry with Flair for the WCW World Title. Savage left WCW in 2000, and retired from active wrestling four years later.
Actor-Rapper
Savage starred in the 2002 Spider-Man film, and has appeared on Walker, Texas Ranger, Mad About You and King of the Hill. He was also a spokesperson for Slim Jim snacks throughout his WWE and WCW careers.
