Randy Pausch, the Carnegie Mellon University computer science professor and author of The Last Lecture, died on July 25, 2008. In September of 2006, Carnegie Mellon University computer science professor Randy Pausch was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, and told he had just months to live. One year later, Pausch delivered a speech to students and colleagues at the university, which became widely known as "The Last Lecture."
