Randy Pausch, the Carnegie Mellon University computer science professor and author of The Last Lecture, died on July 25, 2008. A university spokeswoman said Pausch, who was diagnosed in 2006 with terminal pancreatic cancer, died at his home in Virginia. The Last Lecture
In September of 2006, Carnegie Mellon University computer science professor Randy Pausch was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, and told he had just months to live. One year later, Pausch delivered a speech to students and colleagues at the university, which became widely known as "The Last Lecture."
