Signed as a free agent during the summer of 2003, Jones spent most of the following season with the Flyers' American Hockey League affiliate, the Philadelphia Phantoms, although he was called up to play five games in the NHL.
He played with the Phantoms during the NHL's locked-out 2004-2005 season, which found the Phantoms winning the League championship, the Calder Cup.
Jones played a total of 66 games with the Philadelphia Flyers during the 2006-2007 season and began the 2007-2008 season as part of the regular lineup.
