Early Life
Ramon Abraham Castro was born in Vega Baja, Puerto Rico, on March 1, 1976. He later attended Vega Baja High School. In 1994, Castro was selected by the Houston Astros with the 17th pick in the Major League Baseball amateur draft. Baseball-Reference.com: Ramon Castro
Pro Career
In 1998, Castro was traded to the Florida Marlins. On August 27, 1999, Castro made his MLB debut with the Florida Marlins. In 2004, Castro signed with the New York Mets. He finished the 2007 season with a .285 batting average, 11 homeruns and 31 runs batted in.MLB.com: Ramon Castro
