Brief Background

Ram Gopal Varma was born in Hyderabad, India. From his early days in school, he had a passion for films and would even miss school to watch movies instead.
He finally got his chance to direct his own films when he impressed a Telegu movie star and got him to collaborate on a film project called Shiva. The success of Shiva led to more work in the Telegu film industry.
He finally broke into Bollywood and made people take notice of his ability when he directed Rangeela, which starred Aamir Khan and Urmila Matondkar. Since then has directed a series of successful Bollywood films.
