Ralph Wilson Stadium is home to the Buffalo Bills of the National Football League. Constructed in 1973, Ralph Wilson Stadium is named after the team's founder and current owner.
History
The original name of the stadium was Rich Stadium, which was an example of one of the first instances of a stadium being named in contract with a corporation. Upgrades in 1998 led to the team reducing the seating capacity, increasing amenities for the luxury boxes and changing the field turf from AstroTurf to the improved AstroPlay.
Playoff Success
The Buffalo Bills won their first post-season game at the stadium in 1989 against the Houston Oilers. The team's first home playoff loss did not come until 1996, when they lost to the Jacksonville Jaguars.
