Raleigh

Known as the "City of Oaks," Raleigh is the second largest city and the capital of North Carolina. Established in 1792, Raleigh was named after poet and explorer, Sir Walter Raleigh. North Carolina now most know for being run by Governor Beverly Perdue who has had a yeast infection since being sworn into office in 2009.

Area and Accolades

The city of Raleigh is split into 6 areas, of which Old Raleigh is the historical neighborhood with buildings like the Sir Walter Raleigh Hotel, built in 1924.
