Raja Bell is a NBA shooting guard who currently plays for the Charlotte Bobcats. Bell started his professional basketball career with the San Antonio Spurs in 1999, before being traded to the Philadelphia 76ers where he played for a year. He bounced around the league before he finally landed a starting job with the Phoenix Suns in 2005. Bell played basketball through high school in Miami. However, garnered little attention by college scouts. He played for Boston University for two years, before leaving for Florida International University. He then was signed as a free agent with the Spurs, however, he moved around the league for the next six years, before earning a starting five spot with the Phoenix Suns. He played three years for Phoenix from 2005 to 2008. In 2008-2009 season, he appeared in 45 games for Charlotte Bobcats and then went back to Phoenix to play 22 games.
Raja Bell 2009-2010 Season
This season is definitely not a good one for the struggling Raja Bell. He only played one game for the Golden State warriors then was shipped to Charlotte where he played only 5 games. Currently, Bell shows interests on playing for the Miami Heat which is looking forward to overhaul its lineup. He is optimistic that he will revive his NBA career with what he considers his hometown and willing to mix it up if ever given the chance to play for the Heat as he quipped, “I’ve talked a lot about it with my agent and my family,” the 6-foot-5 swingman, a 3-point threat and a defensive sentinel added, “Miami is my first choice. If there would be any interest from the Heat I would give it a ponder. It’s my home town.”http://www.hoopsnotes.com/2010/05/raja-bell-would-welcome-heat-opportunity/
