Rahul Bose is an Indian film actor who defies the more typical image of the Bollywood hero. He has starred in a number of art house films such as Everybody Says I'm Fine and Mr. and Mrs. Ayer, which have both received critical acclaim in India and abroad. He recently appeared in Pyaar Ke Side Effects alongside actress Mallika Sherawat and Before the Rains opposite Nandita Das.
Brief Background
Raul Bose spent his youth in Kolkata, West Bengal and then moved to Mumbai with his family during his teen years.
He then went on to attend Sydenham College, where he studied acting and pursued boxing and rugby. He began his film acting career with Dev Benegal's English August. From there he went on to act in a number of art house Indian films that have branded him one of India's leading parallel cinema actors.
In addition to acting, he has set up an NGO to aid victims of the 2004 Asian tsunami.
