  • Founding Fathers

    The team was originally formed in 1992 as Rahal-Hogan Racing by Bobby Rahal and Carl Hogan. They raced in the Champ Car series, winning the championship their first year. Rahal retired from racing in 1989, but the team continued in the Champ Car series through the 2003 season.
  • Move to the IRL

    In 2004 the team moved to the Indy Racing League after partnering with late night television host and comedian David Letterman. Shortly later the name was officially changed to Rahal Letterman Racing.
