Professional basketball guard Rafer Alston plays for the Orlando Magic in the National Basketball Association.

Career
Alston was drafted by the Milwaukee Bucks in the second round of the 1998 NBA draft. He ranked 39th overall. During the 2007-2008 season, Alston started in all of the 74 games he participated in. He averaged 13.1 points, 3.5 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 34.1 minutes per game. He shot 39.4% from the field, 35.1% from the three point area and 71.5% from the free throw line.NBA: Rafer Alston
Alston was issued a two-game suspension without pay stemming from a November 2008 on-court brawl between the Rockets and the Phoenix Suns.
Arrest
Alston was arrested and then released without bail in August of 2007. He was charged with stabbing a 41-year-old man. The man claims that Alston slashed him across the neck during an argument at a Manhattan club. Alston was traded to the Magic from the Houston Rockets as part of a three-team trade on February 19, 2009. He is expected to see more playing time with the Magic, filling in for the injured Jameer Nelson.
