    Rackspace started in 1996 as a small ISP called Cymitar Network Systems. The company was started in the garage of co-founder Richard Yoo. Co-founders Dirk Elmendorf and Patrick Condon later joined to help expand the business.
  • Downtime

    On November 12, 2007, a truck driver in Dallas, Texas drove into a power transformer. This caused the transformer to explode, as a result power was temporally cut to the area. Rackspace's Dallas data center experienced outages due to loss of power. Popular websites like 37signals remained off line during this outage.
