  Rachel Hunter was born and raised in Auckland, New Zealand. Although she wanted to be a ballerina, the modeling industry lured her attention. By the age of 17, Hunter was appearing on the covers of Vogue and Cosmopolitan

  In 1990 Rachel Hunter became the wife of legendary rock singer Rod Stewart, who was 24 years her senior. Stewart was once quoted as saying "I'd rather have my penis cut off than cheat on her." The couple had two children Renee (1992) and Liam (1994). During this time Hunter began appearing in the Sports Illustrated yearly swimsuit edition. Hunter and Stewart separated in 1999 but did not finalize their divorce until 2007 and it was said to have cost Stewart $66 million. Hunter spiked her popularity with a new generation when she appeared in the 2003 music video Stacy's Mom by Fountains of Wayne.
