Brief Biography
Born in 1979 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Cook began her career in modeling at the age of 10, and began seeking acting work while still a teenager. She made her film debut in The Babysitter's Club in 1995. In 1998, Cook appeared in a Partnership for a Drug Free America commercial, colloquially known as a "This is Your Brain on Drugs" commercial, in which she took an egg (which she called "your brain), took a frying pan (which she called "heroin), and proceeded to slam the egg repeatedly with the frying pan before destroying the entire kitchen. The next year, she appeared as the beautiful and shy art student Laney Boggs in the film She's All That, starring alongside Freddie Prinze Jr.. She has since appeared in several other films, none of them matching the commercial success of She's All That. Cook lives in Los Angeles with her husband Daniel Gillies and their three dogs.
