About the Game

The intention of Race Pro is to create as realistic a racing experience as possible. An accurate physics engine creates a sensation of speed and replicates realistic handling. The game features 13 officially licensed FIA racing tracks and 48 cars, from Minis to BMWs.Atari: Race Pro
Gameplay

Players can unlock upper-tier cars by playing through the game's career mode. The races start off with low-power cars like the Mini and gradually progress to more powerful monsters with 400+ horsepower. Of course, Race Pro offers multiple options for tweaking the different cars. In addition to cosmetic changes, players will be able to customize gear ratios, downforce, brake bias and more.
Cars react realistically to the different surface characteristics of the various racetracks. Speeding into a corner too quickly can cause the car to spin out of control of the terrain isn't taken into consideration. In an interview with GameSpot, the game's creative director, Diego Sartori, stated that there are tracks in which correct navigation of one corner will impact how well the car handles in upcoming corners. For those who require a little help, Race Pro features an optional static racing line, which shows the best route around a track.GameSpot: RacePro Updated Hands-On(November 20, 2008)
