  • The psychedelic jam band Quicksilver Messenger Service formed in the mid-1960s and for the first two years of their existence were too busy touring to sign their record deal with Capitol Records in 1967. They released their self-titled debut the next year.

    In 2006, members David Freiberg and Gary Duncan arranged the Quicksilver Anniversary Celebration tour.
