Quiche pans are used to bake savory quiches in pastry shells. They may also be used for other dishes and desserts, such as tarts.

History
The word “quiche” originated in Germany as “küche,” which means “cake”. The French later translated the word to “quiche.”Description
A quiche pan can be recognized by its scalloped edges. This type of bakeware can be found in various sizes and colors. Quiche pans can be square or rectangle, but traditional quiche pans are usually round. They are made from metal or ceramic. Ceramic quiche pans are safe to use in the microwave. Some quiche pans have removable bottoms for releasing delicate pastry from the pan. These keep the baked dish from breaking and are also known as tart pans.
