Career
Queensryche formed in 1983 and released three albums for EMI without much mainstream success. In 1988, the group released their ambitious political-themed concept album, Operation: Mindcrime, which was their commercial breakthrough and a critical success. Kerrang! Magazine voted it #34 on their "100 Greatest Heavy Metal Albums Of All Time" list. The bands 1990 album, Empire was also a major success selling three million copies in the U.S. to date.In 2007, they released an album of cover songs and a greatest hits collection.
