Quake Live
Quake Live is a port of Quake 3 Arena that has been released on a free Web-based client. In order to play, all people need to do is sign up and download a small browser plug-in. This allows people to play the game right in their Web browser.
Quake Live includes 40 maps, a ranking system, leaderboards, and the weapons from the original game. Players will need to fight a bot before playing the game, so their skill level can be determined. Once the skill level is determined, the game will match players up against people who are in thier skill range. Players are able to choose from dozens of avatars, and can change the controls and some of the colors in the game.
The open beta for Quake Live was released on February 24, 2009.QuakeLive.com: Quake Live
