Known for her role as "Pocahontas" in The New World, Q'orianka Kilcher became an overnight success. Born in 1990, in Schweigmatt, Germany, Q'orianka began performing very young. By the time she turned nine, she competed in over 250 dance contests which helped support her family. She competed on Star Search in 2002 but only came in second place. 2005, she was cast in The New World opposite Colin Farrell, in which she won a "Breakthrough Performance Award" by the National Board of Review. Q'orianka not only acts, but she is also involved in charity and activism causes, working with organizations like Amnesty International and the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women.
