A python is a large, muscular non-poisonous snake that belongs to the constrictor family.
Constrictor
Pythons are in the family of constrictors. They use their teeth to grab their prey, then quickly coils around its body. The python squeezes just long enough to suffocate its victim, then unhinges its jaw and slowly, through rhythmic muscular contractions, begins to swallow the prey whole.San Diego Zoo: Pythons
