Puzzle Quest: Galactrix is the sequel to Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords released in 2007 on multiple platforms. Challenge of the Warlords was based on the popular series of Warlords computer games. It is a puzzle game similar to Bejeweled with traditional RPG elements. Galactrix takes those same elements and incorporate them into a sci-fi setting.

Story
In the universe of Puzzle Quest: Galactrix, four mega corporations control the galaxy. One of these corporations has been conducting dangerous scientific experiments and now another race is attempting to exterminate mankind. The player is a novice pilot whose mission it is to stop this from happening. The player will visit various planets and star systems in order to complete the different missions obtained throughout the game. He or she will craft items, acquire new skills, build a powerful space fleet, maneuver amongst various political factions, and carry supplies for trade throughout the galaxy. The player will encounter various companions, who will join his crew and provide different skills to help him in combat.
Gameplay
While Challenge of the Warlords had a square board with round gems, Galactrix has hexagonal gems set in a hexagonal grid. As the player moves about the universe, the gravitational pull of his current location will influence the way the game pieces fall. As in Challenge of the Warlords, the basics of the game revolve around matching three gems of the same color, either red, yellow, green, blue, purple, or silver. Each color gem has a different power. For example, blue gems will recharge your shields and purple gems will increase your psi power. Galactrix allows 2-4 players to battle each other online, as well as download new ships, items, factions, and missions.
