Most people trace the origins of the subculture to punk rock, but some argument could be made for the concept that the music grew out of the culture. Punk is generally considered anti-establishment and a subculture ruled by youth. Many people label punks as anarchists, Neo-Nazis and drug users, but the subculture grew out of a rebellion against societal rules of dress, behavior, and music.
