About the Game
The Punch-Out!! series was developed and published by Nintendo and first appeared on the arcade scene in 1984, just a year after the release of the Famicom home console system. A variety of titles were released on the NES and the Super NES and Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!! came out in 1987.Punch-Out!! for the Wii introduces all new characters for Little Mac to pound on, and a number of old favorites make a return as well. This time around Little Mac and his opponents are rendered in 3D cel-shaded graphics. Players can use the Wii Remote and Nunchuk to control Little Mac on the screen, or the game can be played with classic NES-style controls.
In addition to the Head-to-Head multiplayer mode, Punch-Out!! features a new Title Defense mode, as well as a full single-player game. When Little Mac battles his way to the championship, his battered opponents will return to challenge his title using new tactics.Nintendo Life: New Punch-Out!! Details (April 20, 2009)
