"Pug Attack" — 2011 Doritos Super Bowl Commercial
Pug Attack Super Bowl Commercial
Doritos and sister brand Pepsi Max have united for a marketing campaign called "Crash the Super Bowl," built around the Fox broadcast of Super Bowl XLV on February 6, 2011. Contestants were encouraged to make their own commercials for either Doritos or Pepsi Max, and the top 6 ads (3 for each brand) aired during the Big Game.
Among the 5 finalists for the Doritos ad was "Pug Attack," a humorous segment about a man taunting a small dog with a bag of Doritos. Other Doritos finalists included a spot about Adam & Eve, a humorous take on house sitting and an awkward scene set in an office break room called "The Best Part." A controversial submission called "Feed the Flock" was pulled from the "Crash the Super Bowl" website after complaints that it mocked the Catholic ritual of the Eucharist.
