  • Plot

    The story begins with Alex Mercer, a man who wakes up with no memory of who he is, but quickly discovers that he is an extremely powerful, shape-shifting mutant. Determined to uncover his past, he pursues the only lead he has and gets caught in a war between a military group known as Project Blackwatch and an army of hideously deformed creatures known as The Infected.

  • Gameplay

    Similar to the open world style of the Grand Theft Auto series, players in Prototype will be able to freely move about the city of New York. Being the genetically enhanced superbeing that he is, Alex Mercer will have access to a wide variety of different offensive and defensive abilities. He can consume enemies to take on their form as well as gain access to their memories and abilities or unleash hell the old fashioned way, using his hands which he can morph into different weapons. There are reportedly around 750 “unique combination” of powers that players have access to.
