  • Project Gotham Racing 3 is the third game in the Project Gotham Racing series, and was released as one of the launch titles for the Xbox 360. The game had more designer vehicles than in past Project Gotham Racing titles, although there are no vehicles straight from Porsche. The game also featured GothamTV, an Xbox Live service in which spectators can watch a game in progress without having to take part in the race. As many as 30,000 viewers could watch a specific race at any time. The game maintained its Kudos feature, in which players earned bonus points for performing specific tasks during a game.
  • Gameplay

Although the game had the same type of features, nearly everything was expanded from its predecessors. There were five cities: Las Vegas, Nurburgring, London, New York and Tokyo. Each city had several districts to play on. Players could take on several types of modes; a regular race, time trial or versus. The Kudos system was increased. Players earned more Kudos based on 16 different maneuvers performed during either a time trial or regular race.
  • Competitive

The Championship Gaming Series, a video game league based in North America, chose Project Gotham Racing 3 for its 2007 league schedule. It was one of the four games used by the league, joining Dead or Alive 4, Counter-Strike Source and FIFA 07. Project Gotham Racing 3 was replaced by Forza Motorsport 2 for the 2008 season. In league matches, two teams of two players each would take part in one race. Players were restricted to the same vehicle.
