Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box is the sequel to Professor Layton and the Curious Village, which got generally high reviews, including some 10/10 ratings, when it was released for the DS in 2008. The Diabolical Box was released in Japan on November 29, 2007, and a quick perusal of online forums shows that fans in other territories have been eagerly awaiting its localized release ever since.GameFAQs: Layton Kyouju to Akuma no HakoIn total, the Professor Layton franchise consists of two trilogies, of which The Curious Village and The Diabolical Box are the first two titles. At the 2009 Game Developer's Conference, Level 5's Akihiro Hino said that he would like to release all six games in the series in North America and Europe.
