What the Heck is a Picarat?
Whenever a puzzle is solved in Professor Layton, the player is awarded a certain number of Picarats, which seem to be the fictional currency in the town of St. Mystere. Players can maximize the amount of Picarats they earn by solving the puzzle on the first try; subsequent attempts earn progressively fewer Picarats. Even though they can't be spent anywhere in the game, they are good for one thing: unlocking special content. The game's most difficult puzzles and a gallery of in-game movies are only two of the rewards unlocked by earning Picarats. -
