Probability is a field of mathematics that deals with chance. Probability plays a major role in many domains, for example in social sciences, thermodynamics and quantum mechanics.
Glossary
- Odds: A quantitative value used to chance that a given outcome will occur in a given number of attempts
- Bernoulli Trial: An experiment that has two possible outcomes
- Infinite Monkey Theorem: States that given an infinite amount of time, intentionally random processes will eventually yield very complex and specific results. The example used is that a monkey smashing randomly on a keyboard for an infinite amount of time will eventually type out the complete works of Shakespeare.
