Princess Leia Organa is a fictional character in George Lucas' Star Wars universe. Leia Organa is a member of the Royal Family of Alderaan and a leader in the Alliance to Restore the Republic, she is also a former member of the Imperial Senate.
Leia, born a twin, was fathered by Jedi Anakin Skywalker, who later succumbs to the darkside, and becomes Darth Vader. Leia was hidden on the planet of Alderaan, and raised by Kenobi's friend Bail Organa, while twin brother Luke Skywalker was raised on the distant world of Tatooine.
Leia followed in the footsteps of her adoptive father and enter politics becoming a threat to the Imperial forces. Lord Darth Vader attacks Leia's ship and takes her prisoner only to be saved by brother Luke Skywalker. After being reunited, Luke and Leia partner together in many other galactic battles, in a quest to save the galaxies from the forces of evil.
