IGN review quote: In every console generation there are one or two games that, regardless of any flaws, hold tight in my memory even years later. I can still picture scenes from Chrono Trigger on the Super Nintendo System as if I just played it the other day. Despite a flurry of great games released in the past year, I still get the itch from time to time to play Jet Set Radio Future on the Dreamcast. Your beloved games may be different, but I’m certain most long-time gamers have a few titles they treasure – the games they can never trade in. Ubisoft’s relaunch of Prince of Persia may just be such a game for me from this generation.IGN: Prince of Persia Review

Variety review quote: One of the most visually stunning videogames ever made, it melds a hand-painted look with spare sound design and haunting music to create an aesthetically consistent work that's meditative but rarely boring and should enjoy solid sales, particularly as buzz starts to build for Disney's 2010 film.Variety: Prince of Persia Review

GameDaily review quote: The adventure ends sooner than expected (10-12 hours), but it's worth every breathtaking moment. This is one of 2008's best.GameDaily: Prince of Persia Review

  • Open-World Gameplay

The latest installment in the Prince of Persia franchise is much more of an open world experience than previous games. Although not a full sandbox, the player does have control over how they achieve the goals set forth by the story.

Throughout the game, there are various paths that can be taken to achieve any goal. The player can also choose which parts of the world they would like to travel to first. In case that sounds a little daunting, the developers have added a guide tool, in the form of a compass abilitiy in the Prince's companion, that will show players the path to the closest goal, preventing them from getting lost.IGN: Prince of Persia Open World Developer Diary
