  • There are a huge number of combos possible in Prince of Persia, the action-adventure game developed by Ubisoft Montreal for the Xbox 360, PS3 and Windows PC. Each combo can be linked to previous combos, potentially chaining numerous attacks together.
  • The Combo Tree

The Prince does not "level up" in Prince of Persia and his abilities remain static throughout the game. The depth of the combat system is in learning the various combos available and chaining them together to create devastating attacks.

The Combo Tree can be accessed from the Options tab on the Pause screen. The tree is divided into six branches: normal, lift, acrobatic, Elika, aerial and throw combos. All of the attacks involve combinations of button presses and do not use the directional pad like a fighter game.

Enemies glow a different color or change posture depending on which type of combo they are vulnerable to. For example, black calls for a magic attack from Elika and blue lets the player know to launch a sword attack. Complete one combo and then, with the correct timing, flow into a second or third combo. Not all combos can be chained into another; throws and aerial combos cannot be chained onto at all.Kotaku: Prince of Persia Preview Soiree... (November 14, 2008)
