Prince Harry

Prince Harry is third in line for the British throne. He is the youngest son of Prince Charles and the late Princess Diana. His father, Prince Charles and his older brother Prince William precede him in the direct line of succession.

On September 15, 2009 Prince Harry turned 25 years old and gained access to part of his inheritance from his late mother's estate. The income only from his inheritance is now his, until he reaches the age of 30, at which time he will inherit the capital as well. At the time of Princess Diana's death, although sources vary, the estimated value of each son's share was somewhere around 20 million British pounds (US$ 40 million). On January 23, 2009, BBC reported that Prince Harry and longtime girlfriend Chelsy Davy broke-up. Charges of Racism

In February of 2009, Prince Harry was ordered by Army officials to complete equality and diversity classes following his alleged appearance on a video referring to his fellow officer as being "our little Paki friend" and another as being a "towelhead." On February 11, 2009, People Magazine reported that Prince Harry was once again involved in controversy after he allegedly made the statement to the black comedian Stephen K. Amos at Prince Charles' 60th birthday celebration, "You don't sound like a black chap." Some are said to be angered at his "racist stereotyping." Former Commission for Racial Equality chairman Lord Herman Ouseley commented, "It is very sad that Prince Harry thinks black people all talk in the same way. Military career

Prince Harry began his military career entering Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in May 2005 where he completed a 44 week training course. He was commissioned in the British Army into the Blues and Royals cavalry, and currently holds the rank lieutenant. In late February, 2008, the Drudge Report broke a press embargo and announced that the prince was serving in Afghanistan, causing him to be withdrawn from the field after serving 77 days on the front line.

In October 2008, Prince Harry announced his intention to become a helicopter pilot for the Royal Air Force. His brother, Prince William, had become a certified RAF pilot in April 2008.CNN.com: Prince Harry wants to be helicopter pilot (October 27, 2008)

Personal life

Known for his antics, and wild ways, Prince Harry has made headlines around the world. In 2005 he wore a Nazi Party swastika armband to a costume party, embarrassing the royal family. He issued a public apology. Prince Harry was also caught smoking marijuana and drinking alcohol in 2002. Two years later he was involved in a fight with the paparazzi after they found him with a date.
