Pride is based on the true story of Jim Ellis (Terrence Howard) and the African-American swim team he organized in Philadelphia during the 1970s.Official Site: Pride

Jim Ellis is working for the Philadelphia Department of Recreation in a facility that is scheduled for demolition when he meets some troubled kids who have some swimming ability. He sees a way to help them, and save the building, by forming a swim team.
