Plot Synopsis
Jim Ellis is working for the Philadelphia Department of Recreation in a facility that is scheduled for demolition when he meets some troubled kids who have some swimming ability. He sees a way to help them, and save the building, by forming a swim team. The film traces the team's experiences, dealing with challenges of racism, violence and city politics, as Ellis and the kids work towards a goal of competing at the state championships.Rotten Tomatoes: Pride Reviews
