This is a full walkthrough for Prey, the 2006 first person shooter from 2K Games. This walkthrough was written using the Xbox 360 console version, but the content is the same for the PC version as well. In this walkthrough you will find detailed directions, tips and tricks, and boss battle strategies.

Introduction
- This walkthrough is broken down into the separate chapters of the game. You can use the table of contents on the right side of this page to jump straight to the section you are having trouble with.
- If you don't know them already, the controls of the game will be helpful in your struggle to save humanity.
- The Left analog stick (LS) moves Tommy around the world.
- The right analog stick (RS) lets Tommy look around the environment.
- The right trigger (RT) fires the primary round of your current weapon. It also activates any terminals or switches that you encounter.
- The left trigger (LT) fires the secondary round of your current weapon.
- The right and left bumpers (RB)/(LB) switch between your weapon inventory.
- The A button controls Tommy's jumping.
- The X will throw a crawler grenade from your inventory.
- The B button to crouch. (Unless you change the setting in the options menu, you will have to hold the button to crouch.)
- The Y button activates your spirit walk power. (You receive the spirit walk power after the fourth chapter.)
- One big point to this game is the fact that you can't die. That's right, once you have spirit power, Tommy literally can't die. The way the system works is explained in more detail after the fourth chapter. The thing you really need to know is the fact that when you come back from the mini game, all the enemies you've killed stay dead. All the damage you have inflicted on any boss will still count when you "die."
- Now that you are armed with some helpful information, it is time to start the walkthrough.

Last Call
- YouTube: Prey - Chapter 1 - Last Call (Time: 7:33)
- When you first start the game, you will get your introduction to Tommy. You can play around in the bathroom for a little bit, but other than that there isn't anything interesting in here.
- Exit the bathroom and take a left. Your grandfather will greet you with a little conversation, which is not received incredibly well by Tommy.
- Once you enter the bar area, Tommy will make a statement as if he hadn't been there in years, yet he was just in the bathroom. Jen will ask you to pick up your wrench off of her bar, to which you should promptly obey.
- TIP: While you're waiting, you can get three achievements by playing the arcade games that are located to the right as you enter the bar. You need to get 250 credits on both Blackjack and Draw Poker, and score over 15,000 points on Rune Man.
- When you want the story to move along, walk to the window beside the two gentlemen sitting at the bar, this will activate the story and eventually Jen will call you over for a chat.
- Once the conversation is over, the two "gentlemen" will make a fuss, and Tommy will whip out the wrench. These guys shouldn't be too hard. A couple bashes over the head should take care of them.
- Now just sit back and enjoy the show.

Escape Velocity
- YouTube: Prey - Chapter 2 - Escape Velocity (Time: 7:01)
- There isn't much you can do in the beginning other than watch the different scripted sequences taking place around you.
- Once you are free, go toward the red holographic alarm and you will see what is probably one of the most disgusting doors in any videogame. Go through the door and crouch under the fleshy mass where you saw the shadow run and take on the little gremlin thing. Two good whacks should handle it.
- Ignore the fleshy door in this area, instead go up to the metal door and activate the touch-screen right beside it.
- Go through the door and take a right to find another gremlin waiting to die.
- When you go up the little staircase here, two pods will come out of the wall behind you. They will burst revealing more hairless gremlin things. Take care of them and crouch through the opening in the wall.
- When Tommy is done with his headache, go to the other side of the little arch in the room and vwala, the big selling point of the game, portals!
- Go through the portal, take a right and up the stairs to see various evil looking things running along the ceiling. Go down the stairs in front of you and to the left. You're welcome.
- Now go to the opposite way and you should see some glowing purple pods that make Tommy feel "good." In addition to the feel-good pods, you should also see another portal arch.
- When you go through the portal, there will be two doors. Only one will open so go on through.
- Turn on your lighter (RS) so you can see three more of our little hairless friends.
- TIP: The best thing to do here is to stand in the middle of the door so they can't get behind you, and just whack away.
- Once you have dispatched the gremlins, go through the door at the end of the hall and you will see a big slice n' dice machine performing it's duties on your homo sapien brethren, a lovely scene indeed.
- Behind the machine is a metal door that leads to a semi-circler room where you'll see Jen helplessly hanging beyond your grasp.
- Continue through the room, you'll be on the other side of the death machine now.
- After the scene with your grandfather, the fellow who freed you in the beginning will open a portal. Walk through to end the chapter.
-
Downward Spiral
- YouTube: Prey - Chapter 3 - Downward Spiral (Time: 9:49)
- There will be a health dispenser right in front of you when you start.
- NOTE: Right across from that is a touch-screen controlling the evil death machine that killed granddad. You can be a saint and leave it off, or you can be an evil little person and turn it back on. Either way it doesn't affect the story, but it could affect your karma.
- Go up the ramp where you'll be introduced to a hunter. He probably won't get off more than a few shots, just run up to him a bash his head in with the wrench and you will have your first gun (well, gun-ish). The primary fire is a rapid-fire machinegun, and the secondary fire gives you a sniper rifle. It's the best of both worlds.
- Now go through the fleshy door and down the hall, another portal will open with a hunter popping through. His portal will stay open, but the only thing on the other side is some health.
- To the right is a touch-screen controlled force field, this is the way to go. Just touch the screen that is on the right side of the door. On the other side of the catwalk is some ammo, but the door is locked.
- Once you have the ammo, jump down off of the catwalk. When you land, a pod will fall from a hole in the ceiling, it's explosive so hold your fire.
- Let the pod roll down the hill onto a web-covered hole, now is the time to shoot the pod.
- NOTE: It should go without saying that you should stand away from the explosive pod while shooting at it, but I thought I'd mention it anyway.
- Jump down the hole for another one of Tommy's headaches, walk through the fleshy door and follow the path until you see two hoverships just, well, hovering there in front of you. Don't worry about them. As soon as you walk up enough, they will fly away.
- A portal will open to your right with a hunter coming to greet you. Once you have killed him, a second hunter will appear on the platform across from yours. Two good sniper shots in the chest will put him down.
- There is a door that is right beside where the first hunter appeared. When you walk through, the first thing you'll notice is a guy banging on a second door. The second thing you should see is a cabinet on the left wall, that cabinet has some ammo in it if you need it.
- Go back outside the door and look for a gap in the railing, jump down into the red pit. When you do, you'll grab another new weapon, some big insect looking creatures called crawlers. These function like grenades. Primary fire is to throw the grenade, with secondary fire switching between the regular grenade and a sticky proximity mine.
- There is a giant glowing path that goes up the wall in this area, you can't miss it, it's called a wallwalk. Go up the wallwalk. Once you reach the top, there will be a hairless gremlin along with some crawler and rifle ammo.
- Go around the corner, and two hunters will come out of a portal. Right behind them is another wallwalk.
- This path will take you upside down; and while you're hanging there, a hunter will appear on the path, so try to get your bearings and take him down.
- Walk into the next room, but before you go all the way down the path, take note of the two gremlins to your right feeding on whatever. You can get the jump on them by killing them from above.
- Get off of the path and walk around to where the dead gremlins are. You should see an ammo cabinet, and you should hear another gremlin. Walk towards a box at the end of the hall, and a gremlin will push the box over revealing a portal.
- NOTE: When you crouch through this portal, it disappears behind you, so make sure you've gotten all the health and ammo you need.
- Okay this is where the game gets pretty wacky. In the room you're in now, there is a display box with a sphere in it. Across from the box you came out of, there is another box with a portal in it. When you go into this portal you'll be on that tiny sphere!
- Now you'll see a normal sized hunter come into the room, only now he's one hundred times your size, and you have to fight him.
- No worries though, he creates a portal and joins you in tinyland. He also brings a buddy along with him, so your best bet is to keep moving while shooting, and try not to get too disoriented on the sphere.
- Walk down to the bottom of the sphere where there is a crater containing a portal. Once you gone through it, you'll notice that there are two different gravity plains here. Also there are two giant orifices that spew nasty slop that is apparently not healthy for Tommy's skin. A few shots to the nasty things will shut them right up. You'll know when you kill them because red (I'm assuming blood) stuff comes out.
- Before you walk through the portal here, look through it to see yourself on one plain of gravity right before you cross to the other, trippy.
- There are two more spewing holes on the ceiling here, so take care of them and pick up any health or ammo that you need. Now go through the portal that is to the right of the one you just went through.
- In this room there are four spewing hole things, one right in front of you when you start, one that comes up from the ground, one directly in front of number two, and one to your left as you exit the fleshy room.
- Go forward and you'll see Jen (yet again), along with a creepy human (ish) guy working on a display. He's blind so he'll only come after you if you get too close.
- Around the corner you'll see a hunter chasing a man out of a door, take out the hunter and go through these next two doors to meet a new enemy, a hairless hellhound.
- TIP: He really isn't very hard, just move back while unloading on him and he'll go down. Right after you kill him, a second one and a hunter also come to say hello.
- Go through the doors that they came out of (there is an ammo cabinet between the two doors) and you should be in a large room with a display of earth. Go up the stairs here and you should also see an inactive wallwalk to your right. To the left of that is a touch-screen that controls several things, one of them being that gravity path.
- Once you are upside down, two hunters will appear where you activated the switch (right "above" you).
- TIP: It can be difficult to aim while upside down, but the spray n' pray method works rather well here.
- When you have them neutralized, continue along the path until you come to the end of the wallwalk.
- Drop down and watch out for those barely human servants, if they get in your way, just kill them. What you need to do now is push one of those explosive pods to a door that is covered in that web stuff. As soon as you blow it up, a hunter will come charging in, blow him away and keep moving.
- Continue along the path until you come to a bridge suspended above a large pit. Just go across, and then back across to finish the chapter.
-
Rites of Passage
- YouTube: Prey - Chapter 4 - Rites Of Passage (Time: 4:12)
- Follow the path until you get to a wide-open area with four hawk statues. Your grandfather will appear and give you some information.
- After a while, dear old granddad will point out where he wants you to go.
- NOTE: These chapters are very linear, so you shouldn't get lost, but if you do, just follow Talon around.
- When you end up in the spirit walk room, activate the stone column by spirit walking through the fire (press Y), handy little trick huh?
- The room after the spirit walk room will have your bow encircled in flame, just spirit walk through the fire and you've got yourself a nifty new stealth weapon. Which brings the chapter to an end.
-
Second Chances
- YouTube: Prey - Chapter 5 - Second Chances (Time: 7:23)
- Right when you start, there is a webbed hole in front of you. After the woman finishes talking, an explosive pod emerges from a tube in the ceiling. Push it into the hole and blow it up.
- NOTE: Also, if you notice now that you have Talon flying around, whenever you get close to a screen with writing on it, Talon translates it into English for you.
- TIP: With the new spirit walk power, whenever you "die," you're transported to a realm where you fight off these flying wraiths. You have to shoot the wraiths to open a hole back to where you died. Shoot red wraiths to get health back, and shoot blue wraiths to get spirit power back. The game suddenly becomes much easier when you can't die.
- First thing you're going to do is jump down the hole you just blew open. Inside is a lovely flesh tunnel. Follow it all the way down until you get to a room with a force field. Your grandfather will then give you a very obvious hint.
- NOTE: The sun symbol on the floor should jump out at you, when you see that, it's telling you to use spirit walk. I will try to mention the symbol whenever it's connected to a necessary path, but if you see one just lying around, spirit walk to see what it opens up.
- Just spirit walk through the field and deactivate it by flipping the switch that Talon is sitting beside. There are three gremlins in this room, so get ride of them either in spirit mode or normal mode. If you want the ammo that is on top of the platform, just go into spirit mode and walk up the spirit bridge that appears.
- Now go through the metal door to your left and follow the path until your little friend (the guy who freed you in the beginning) calls your attention to some pipes to your left. Keep on going forward until you get to a force field with no way to open it from the outside. But look, there is a sun symbol on the floor. That can only mean one thing! Spirit walk through the field, but before you open it up, there is a hunter in this room; introduce an arrow to his cranium, then open the force field.
- A second hunter will drop from the ceiling, so be prepared to take him down. Now go over to where the first hunter was standing and activate the wallwalk. When you begin to climb the wallwalk, two hunters appear, so either take them down or die so you can get a feel for what I explained in number 1 up top.
- Walk to the end of the path and look up... or down... look above your current position and you should see a sun symbol, so enter spirit form and you'll fall down onto the platform. Follow the suns to the room with the switch in it that will move your body. Also note the sign in this room that authorizes the use of heavy weapons, good times ahead.
- TIP: Make sure to exit spirit mode before your body reaches the other side, because there will be a hunter waiting to rip you a new one while you're just floating there.
- Continue down the new path and go up the stairwell that is in front of you. Before you go straight, go back into the room you entered as a spirit, the one with the heavy weapons sign. A door should open up revealing the Leech gun. Once you pick up the gun, several baddies will spawn, ready to give you a run for your money. If you stay in the room you're in, they will start throwing grenades.
- NOTE: If you die you'll just come right back where you left off, so it's really no big deal.
- Once you have the hunters eviscerated, the door to the left of the room with the leech gun will be unlocked. As soon as you enter the door, you'll see a power node on the wall with a red light on it. This power node is where you get ammo for the leech gun. There are several kinds, all in differing forms of awesomeness. Just simply use the secondary fire to "leech" the power from the node into your gun.
- As you move forward, you'll see little tentacles wriggling on the ground. When you walk over them, they do hurt you a little bit, so it would be advantageous to shoot them before you walk over them.
- NOTE: When you get to the girl beating on the window, be warned that the scene that unfolds is rather disturbing. Once the window is broken, proceed forward.
- When you venture through the door in this room, you'll be confronted by two gremlins, no problem for your leech gun. In addition to the dual gremlins, there is a power node for your leech gun on the wall that has a frost power.
- Go down the steps here and look under said steps. You will see two boxes with portals. The one facing you just sends you out of the box next to you. The other portal sends you into a room that is so topsy-turvy, you might just get dizzy. Those three green lights on each of the walls act as a gravity changer, fire a shot at one and the gravity will be concentrated on that surface. I'll tell you the right one to shoot, but you'll probably just want to play around with gravity for a little while, so have fun. Now, from where you're standing when you first enter the room, look at the door on the "ceiling," and turn your body so it's upside down. Now backup until your body is touching the wall behind you, the node you want is on the wall in front of you. Okay, now that you have gravity in the right plain, just walk down to the portal and go through it.
- For most of the enemies in this room, there will be some distance between you, so your sniping skills will come in handy here. When a sniper takes aim at you, there will be a distinctive sound, kind of like a shrill from a horror movie soundtrack. Don't forget to check across the room from you as well. If you need ammo, there is plenty along the catwalk. Just move from cover point to cover point.
- Once you have the snipers taken care of, move to the end of the catwalk and drop down onto the platform beneath you. You should start hearing "Barracuda" playing in the background. Look up to see a gravity changer and some familiar posters. Hit the gravity and walk along the path until you get to an insurmountable obstacle, notice the gravity changer on the wall, along with some health. Just make sure you will land on the wall the gravity switch is on and not the one at the end of the other hall. Also watch out for one of the spewing spouts on top of the hill that is now beside you.
- Now that you're on the other side of the hill, face what would be the other slope of the hill and look up. Hit the gravity switch and you should land on the side of the hill, granting you access to the forward area.
- When you move up, you'll notice that the music is coming from none other than Jen's bar, and there are about four hunters just partying it up. End their party abruptly, and make sure that you don't go flying off the cliff that is now behind you (like I did). You might even be able to kill one or two while in spirit mode.
- Once you have killed them all, look under the bar for the gravity switch, but before you jump down, go into spirit mode and collect the ammo that is across the spirit bridge. Now jump down and collect some health that is also behind the bar.
- Now it will start raining hunters, a couple will be on your level, while one will be on the ledge where you got the ammo while spirit walking. When you kill them, five portals will open up. Each one will send you right back the same way you went in. So how do you get out?
- Standing with your back to the jukebox, go to the portal to your far left. When you get close, it will show you what is right behind you, which is a blue portal. Go through this portal to end the chapter.
-
All Fall Down
- YouTube: Prey - Chapter 6 - All Fall Down (Time: 8:37)
- Walk along the path until you see Jen, look in the direction she goes, and snipe the hunter that walks around there.
- Now walk through the fleshy door to your left and continue.
- When you go through the door you'll find a human slave, and a wallwalk that is deactivated. To activate it, stand in front of where you came in the room and go right. There will be a frost node, some health, and in the corner there will be a touch-screen for the wallwalk.
- Now go up the wallwalk and before you get to the end, a hunter will drop onto the floor below you. When you take him down, the wallwalk will deactivate again. Reactivate it and go through the door at the end of the wallwalk, and before continuing on, survey the area. You should see an explosive pod drop as soon as you enter the room, as well as the door you need to use the pod on. The door is to the top right of where you're standing now.
- The door has a force field that you'll need to use spirit walk on to get through, so it begs the question, why can't you just spirit walk through the webbed goo? Anyway, blow up the goo-covered door and proceed through. The switch is to your left as you enter.
- Before you go too far, spirit walk the path you're supposed to go down. Make a right when you reach the big open room with the giant pipe in it. Follow the path all the way to the platform with the opening in the giant pipe. Go in the pipe (still in spirit mode), and walk about twenty feet down. You should see a hellhound sleeping. Shoot him with an arrow and he will get up, you have more than enough time to put another arrow in him before he starts attacking, and that's enough to kill him.
- Now take the same path in normal mode, but as soon as you enter the big room, two hunters will spawn. One will be on top of the platform you're trying to get too, and the second will be on the ground with you. I would take out the one on the platform first. After that just follow the path to the pipe, one or two more hunters will appear. One will be on the ground, and one will be on the platform behind you.
- Go down the pipe and at the end there will be a drop off with two sets of pipes. Jump from one set to another and then down to the ground. Continue along the path, when you get to the end there will be a platform with one hellhound waiting for you. As you're fighting the hound, there will be two hunters to the right waiting for you to finish. They'll try to snipe you, so take cover and snipe back.
- It may seem like there is no way out of this little platform, but go over to where the hunters were and look up. Shoot the gravity switches to get you over the bars.
- Activate the two portals here. The one on the left will take you back to a place that you've already been, all you can do here is use spirit walk to get some ammo and go back. Go through the one on the right to get some leech gun ammo.
- NOTE: If you want to take the edge off, there is a poker machine in here too.
- When you return the way you came in, you will exit in a different room, follow it to the end and you will see your buddy again, turns out you're on an elevator.
- When you get to the top, turn around and go through the door. The doors will lock both in front of you and behind you, so look up and shoot the gravity switch to give you access to a portal that is on the ceiling.
- When you go through the portal, you'll end up in a lovely room with a hopscotch board written in blood right in front of you. Make your way through the room; just simply dodge the ghost's attacks. There is a large door on the left side of the room near the back. It will only open enough for you to craw through, and once you do the mysterious woman will start talking again.
- Go to the right to get some ammo. Go to the left to activate the blue portal that ends the chapter.
-
Crash Landing
- YouTube: Prey - Chapter 7 - Crash Landing (Time: 9:59)
- Spirit walk through the force field and take out a couple of hunters. Make sure you go to the back of the room, turn around, and deactivate the alarm system that is to your left.
- Once all of the enemies are taken care of, go up the stairs and activate the large bay doors right in front of you (touch-screen is to the right of the door).
- Spirit walk your way through the force field in the floor and walk around to deactivate the field. But while you're in spirit mode, walk all the way to the platform that is near the nose of the plane. Go up the ramp and the spirit bridge to find a switch that lowers a lift to let you get up to the platform.
- Now back to your normal self. Move forward and two hunters will appear, one on a platform and one on your level. When you reach the end of the platform you're on, there will be a power node for the leech gun with some new electric power.
- When you drop down, you'll be greeted first by two hellhounds, these can be killed with one shot of the electric leech gun. Next two floating squids will come out to play. They can be killed with two shots of the electro leech gun. And after that, three snipers will be on the platforms that are near the nose of the plane. Take cover either behind a stalagmite, or some debris lying on the ground. Watch out though, while you're messing with the snipers, a couple gremlins will come from behind you.
- Once you have all the baddies taken care of, go to the lift you activated earlier and go into the portal that is waiting for you up top.
- When you come out on the other side, a hunter will lock you in with a set of bars. The top bar doesn't close all the way though. If you look on the right wall, there is a gravity switch, so hit it and continue into the room. The hunter that locked you in isn't here so don't worry about him. Just hit the gravity switch on the ground to continue.
- TIP: If you need ammo, there is a cabinet directly to the right of the gravity switch.
- Now go to the force fields at the end of the room, hit the touch-screen to deactivate both of them. The little one has ammo in it, and the big one has the door you're looking for.
- In this door is an arch. Go around to the other side and enter the chamber, flick the switch, and you'll be in the other room. If you need more ammo, go behind the arch to find another portal that leads back to the plane crash. When you're ready to proceed, go through the door outlined in teeth.
- You'll see two human slaves and one dead one, around the corner is an automated turret. Take out the crawler and switch to the proxymine, run up to the turret and throw the mine onto it.
- Go through the door here to see two sleeping hellhounds behind some glass. Walk around the glass to see a force field with a sun symbol on the floor. Spirit walk through the field by jumping on the pipes below it and look at the screen. Eventually Talon will fly over and reveal that it reads 1623. Around the corner is a key-coded door. Enter the code 1623 into the pad and go on.
- As soon as you walk through the door, duck behind the crate in front of you to avoid fire from a turret and two snipers. If you still have electricity in your leech gun, pop out of cover and take aim at the turret, one shot will take it down. If you don't have the electro leech gun, just start shooting at it, it'll eventually blow up. The snipers are pretty high up. Watch for the lasers from their guns, it will help ID them. Talon will distract one while you take out the other, so that helps.
- Once you're done with that, look up to see a gravity switch, hit it in order to fall into a vent leading to the other side of the pit.
- NOTE: As an alternative, you could have spirit walked across the spirit bridge here and hit the gravity switch on that side. Either way, six of one, half dozen of the other, same result.
- Once you're across, go through the metal door here and stock up on ammo. Also notice the two screens here. One has various pictures of you killing things, and the other has a picture of Jen looking like she's in an alien test tube.
- Through the door here is a hellhound waiting for you. And as soon as you enter the room, two hunters will teleport in, all of them on the same floor as you. Once you have killed them, two more hunters will teleport in. One near the force field in the back, and one on the catwalks near where you came in.
- Spirit walk through the force field and activate the switch, which lowers a lift for you. Put your normal body on the lift, and spirit walk back into the force field to raise the lift, doing so will spawn two more hunters.
- TIP: Health and ammo are on the catwalks adjacent to the lift. The way to get there is to jump from the lift onto the pipes that are right next to you.
- After you've stocked up, get back to the lift and proceed through the door. In the middle room there is a human slave doing something right in front of the door you need to get through, so kill him and continue.
- The next room will have a locked door and several bodies hanging from chains, go past them and onto the raised platform to activate a portal arch.
- When you're in the next room, there will be a multitude of wallwalks. Ignore the bottom area, that's just a pit with gremlin pods. In the middle of the room are eight separate wallwalk platforms facing each other. If you jump onto them now, it will give you a narrow bridge to the other side.
- Once on the other side, use the wallwalk to get to the highest point. There will be a hunter and a touch-screen waiting for you up there. Using the touch-screen will make that group of eight platforms start to move. Go halfway down the wallwalk and turn right. Don't let all the various paths confuse you. You only want to go straight to the other side. Time your movements and only move one section at a time. If you want to know where the other paths lead, you'll find a crawl space with one rifle ammo pack.
- When you get to the other side, get off of the wallwalk and go behind it to see a portal arch to the left of the wallwalk.
- When you go through the portal, you'll end up falling on the ceiling of the room. Turn around and go towards the room. You'll see a hunter on the floor (your ceiling), and as you walk into the room there is a turret to your left. After you take care of them, more hunters will teleport through, about five or six, but not all at once.
- Now from where you entered this room, take a left and you'll see a box on your level, and two power nodes "above" you. Go around the back of the box and there will be a portal leading to one of the walls in this room with three portal boxes. The one you're looking for is right behind the box you just came out of.
- When you're finally on the ground, a hunter along with his four-legged friend will come to join you. Once you have them dead, you're free to grab whatever ammo and health you need. In addition to everything else that is in this room, there is a screen with the code 2724.
- Now that you have everything you need, go through the door out of this dizzy mess. The next room will have the key-code locked door, along with some ammo and a health dispenser.
- This next room might be familiar to you; it's the one with all the sleeping hellhounds. Spirit walk down and flip the switch to turn on the wallwalk in the corner.
- TIP: You might want to take this time to kill a few of the hounds to lighten the load. When you're ready, activate the lift to take you down into the room.
- TIP: Unless you feel like fighting about six of our four legged buddies, I suggest you make a B-line for the wallwalk.
- The room at the end of the path will have a touch-screen to activate the blue portal, and that's the end of the chapter.
-
Sacrifices
- YouTube: Prey - Chapter 8 - Sacrifices (Time: 9:59)
- As you go down the path in front of you, to your right is a key-code locked portal arch. The path continues only so you can get some ammo and the code to open the door, which is 0634.
- When you exit the portal, you'll see a school bus. Along the platform you're on now, there is a sun symbol near the bus. Spirit walk up the spirit bridge and unlock the portal arch at the end of the platform. But as soon as you get to the portal, the lights go off and the arch locks. Shortly after, little ghosts will start coming out of the bus. Once you kill them all, the lights will come back on and the doors will unlock.
- In this next room there are two gremlins, dispatch them and continue on to see the blue portal spinning in a rather unstable state . Now all you have to do is find a way to get to it.
- Go through the doors and you will come to a room with two wallwalks in it. When you walk in, two hunters will teleport in. One will be on the ground, and one will be on one of the wallwalks.
- After you've dealt with them, there is a switch in the middle of the room that controls one of the wallwalks. Turn this on to gain access to the portal on the ceiling.
- TIP: While you're trying to get to the portal, hunters will teleport in twice to shut off the wallwalk while you're on it, so be ready for that.
- Once you're through the portal, there will be three gremlins in their pods waiting for you. Take care of them and push the explosive pod to a web-covered hole in the left-hand corner of the room.
- Drop down and follow the path to a dead hunter and a locked door. You'll pick up the hand and are now able to unlock the handprint scanner beside you.
- Continue down the vent until you get to the drop off point, and are introduced to the first boss.
-
Boss: Minotaur
- The minotaur is a rather large creature with two big machine guns/grenade launchers on his arms. For his main attack, he will spray you with gunfire relentlessly. Another attack he will often do is lob a wave of grenades your way.
- None of the weapons you currently have will really put a reasonable dent into the guy, so you'll need to get yourself a new gun.
- When you crash into the arena, head to a little cubby hole on the left (there is also one on the right) and wait for the minotaur to put his arm into the hole to try and kill you. When he does this, activate the force field and it will catch his arm. He will eventually pull it out, breaking the force field. But if you look in the doorway, you'll find one of his arm cannons. Pick it up and you have an Auto Cannon. Primary fire is a machine gun, and secondary fire lobs a grenade.
- Step out and unload on him with the auto cannon. That's really all you have to do. After a relatively short amount of time, the minotaur will fall to the fire of his own weapon.
- After the woman finishes talking, a hunter will teleport in, giving you a way out.
- Go through the rooms here until you get to a large room with three hunters and a couple wallwalks. When you have killed the hunters, use the wallwalks to get to the ceiling. Once you are on the ceiling, hunters will start poring in from all over. When you have the hunters taken care of, wallwalk to the forcefield that is closest to the door you came from. Use the severed hand on the lock to move forward.
- When you get to the end of the path, you'll be in the room with the blue portal, along with a hunter. Kill him, and his buddy that comes through a portal. Stabilize the blue portal by activating the touch-screen, then a third hunter will pop through. When you go up to the portal, a new four legged thing (kind of like a nasty centaur) will pop out of a "hole" (yes, I know what it looks like) and then pop back in before you can fight it.
- Walk to the end of the room and your grandfather will call for you, and then the chapter ends.
-
There Are Others
- YouTube: Prey - Chapter 9 - There Are Others (Time: 2:07)
- Follow the path and you will end up at the courtyard area with the four hawk statues.
- After you talk with your grandfather, he will direct you to the spirit cave (where you got the spirit bow).
- Listen to the dialogue and then the chapter ends. That's really all there is to this chapter.
-
Guiding Fires
- YouTube: Prey - Chapter 10 - Guiding Fires Part 1 (Time: 6:30) | Part 2 (Time: 5:42)
- Go through the door and kill the two hovering squids and a hunter. Now look at the red laser field. There is a red wire that runs along both sides. Follow each wire to find a handprint scanner to shut off the lasers. You have to shut off both scanners to proceed.
- Go into the elevator and go to the second floor. There will be two hunters here, and two stations for those shuttle craft. When you get in a ship, hunters will start spawning on the second floor trying to snipe you. One will eventually get in a ship and try to take you down that way.
- NOTE: There is health and ammo on the third floor.
- Kill the enemies and land your craft on a landing pad that is located on the wall of the canyon. When you approach it, your grandfather will point out the guiding fires.
- Land the ship and go through the doors. When you come out there will be two hunters waiting for you. Walk to the left and up the ramps to find an alarm switch and a wallwalk switch.
- Activate the wallwalk and follow it to the end. Jump off the edge and activate the switch that unlocks the large bay doors. Then Activate a portal that will take you back to the ground floor.
- Go back to your ship and you'll be greeted by many (not an infinite number) red eyed flying robots. Just strafe around the enemy while leading your crosshairs and they'll be history in no time.
- Now go through the bay doors and land your ship. Go through the door to your right and kill the hunter and hellhound. At the end of the path will be a health dispenser, and a door leading to a portal room.
- On the other side of the portal will be another ship and a large bay door. Go through the door and straight up. You'll now be in a clear tunnel.
- Continue through the tunnel and you'll get to a couple of giant spinning halos. Wait for the blue beams to stop, then fly through. Do the same with the second one and continue moving forward.
- Eventually you will get to a switchover station. Just fly through and wait for it to flip over. When it does just keep moving in the same direction you were to begin with.
- Just fly through this area, killing whatever gets in your way. You will get to another door that takes you into a huge room with a giant force field. Depending on how your ship is doing on health, you may want to take on the baddies in here with the ship, or you may want to land and take your chances on foot.
- TIP: There is a spirit bridge on the opposite side of the force field that leads to a good ammo cache.
- There are two doors here. The one on the right will lead you to the top of the watchtower, and inside there is a switch to turn off the force field. The left door leads to a platform under your ship with some health and ammo.
- Get back in your ship and go through the giant hole in the wall, then land again (tedious?). There are about three hunters in here so take care of them and go through the metal door.
- Activate the portal, go through, and the chapter is over.
-
The Old Tribes
- YouTube: Prey - Chapter 11 - The Old Tribes Part 1 (Time: 6:17) | Part 2 (Time: 7:11)
- TIP: When you go through the door in front of you, be ready to duck. There are at least two snipers out to get you.
- Go through the door here to your left and stop. Spirit walk past the eye stalks to find a terminal to turn them off. Go through the door that is behind the eye stalk terminal. In here you'll find a health dispenser and an electric power node.
- NOTE: In the corner will be a terminal for a portal that, when activated, takes you to what seems like a dead end. Look on the ground to find a sun symbol. Spirit walk across the spirit bridge here to find a weapons cache.
- Go back to the room with the eye stalks and go through the door on your left. Activate the wallwalk and follow it. When you reach a little more than halfway, hunters will teleport on the platform in front of you. Ignore them until you can kill them without falling, but otherwise just push forward until you get to the blocked door. Spirit walk through the door to cut off the eye stalks, then deactivate the force field and move to the door. A new flying friend will present himself. Just pump him full of auto-cannon lead and then blast a grenade at him to finish him off.
- Go across to the other door and spirit walk your way to the eye stalk terminal. Go into the door behind the eye stalk terminal just like you did on the other side. Except this time there will only be a portal to go through. This portal leads to the watchtower that a sniper was in at the beginning of this room. Activate the terminal here to turn on a wallwalk on the other side of the room.
- TIP: When you do this, hunters will spawn in a few different spots, so watch out for them.
- Go to the door in the middle of the second eye stalk hall, spirit walk through the force field, turn around and the terminal for the field is right there. Now go over the spirit bridge and activate the wallwalk here. When you get to the other side, open the door and spirit walk to the eye stalk terminal to turn off these stalks as well. Go through the hall here to be greeted by another flying alien.
- As you go up the wallwalk here, hunters will teleport in front of you, take them out and watch them fall past you. When you reach the top, jump down on the platform and walk out onto the pipes here to get to the catwalk in the middle of the room. There will be a couple snipers and a flying alien pestering you. Once you get on the platform, take them out or just run to the unlocked door at the end of the catwalk.
- The room inside has a portal terminal that leads to a shuttle room with a hunter in it. Steal the ship and fly through the bay doors.
- TIP: In this room there will be two big mines floating around, so shoot them before they become trouble. You might also have a hunter jump into a ship to take you out, so be ready for that.
- Land the ship on the landing pad here and move to the locked door here. Check for any visible snipers. When you feel it's safe, enter spirit form and walk onto the landing pad. Use the spirit bridges here to get up to the highest sniper position. Take out the sniper if you haven't already done so. The portal behind you leads to the other sniper position, so if you didn't kill the other sniper you can get at him too. Go to the first sniper lookout and use the terminal here to open the large doors on the ceiling.
- Get back in your ship and fly up through the opened doors. When you reach the new room, there will be a large fan above you that is spinning too fast for you to get through. There are four stations here that are powering the fan. One of them is disabled, so if you look at that one you'll see that there is a big round node right in the center of the station that is open. Two of the four stations will have force fields up and two won't. Go to the station that is still functioning, but doesn't have a force field. Land on the platform and notice that the node is closed on this one. There is a terminal that is connected to the node door, activate it to open the door. Jump back into your ship and start shooting at the middle of the now opened node. Once you have blown open the little hatch on the node, use your tractor beam (LT) to pull out the brick that is controlling the station.
- Now go to another station. This time you will need to spirit walk through the force field and disable it with a terminal that is right beside the entrance. Other than that, the rest is exactly the same. Once you have all the terminals disabled, the fan will stop, allowing you to proceed.
- Go through the tunnel and fight off the red eyed flying robots. If your ship starts to lose power, there is a landing pad halfway up the fan shaft. Go to the top and go through the tunnel with the fire next to it.
- You will come out in a chamber with a big metal tube running through it. Go to the front and use your tractor beam to move the objects out of the way, then go through the door and land. You'll be greeted by the free people on this ship.
- Go through the corridor here and take a right. Approach the door with the man standing in front, the priestess will tell him to let you pass. Go in and listen to what the priestess has to say.
- Go through the portal she opens and the chapter ends.
-
Hidden Agenda
- YouTube: Prey - Chapter 12 - Hidden Agenda (Time: 9:21)
- Move from room to room until you get to a room with eye stalks panning back and forth. Spirit walk to the terminal at the end of the room so you can turn them off.
- Keep on moving forward and you will eventually see a "keeper." Look to your right and use the severed hand to unlock the door here. Walk through and you'll see a new weapon that is being kept in some containment field.
- Go either right or left, and you will be in a small room with something keeping the containment field active.
- TIP: When you shoot the nodes, eye stalks will start looking for you. If they find you, turrets will start shooting at you. Just stand back toward the door and shoot the node or spirit walk your way through. Each room has a health dispenser, so if you get pounded too bad you can replenish your health.
- Once you've shot both nodes, return to the room with the new weapon. Pick it up and you now have a shotgun that shoots acid. Primary fire shoots just enough acid to be lethal for a hunter at close range. Secondary fire shoots the whole canister of acid at whatever you're aiming at.
- When you pick up the acid gun, hunters will start appearing one at a time. Just run up to one and introduce him to some acid. You'll know when you're done because the last hunter's portal will stay open.
- Go through to see a couple screens with Jen looking particularly experimented on. Now turn around and go through the door here. Two hunters will greet you with some rifles, so greet them in return with some acidy goodness. This is the first force field we've seen in a while that doesn't require you to spirit walk through it. The switch for it is on the column in the middle of the room.
- Go into the next room and kill the hunters and the turret, then look for a green cubby hole. Put your body in the cubby hole and spirit walk through the force field and activate the touch-screen. Your body will come rolling along, but don't stop yet. Go through the next force field and activate that touch-screen to bring you to the end of the turntable.
- TIP: Be ready to either protect your body in spirit form, or jump back into your body; because once your body reaches the end, hunters will start coming through.
- Now look in the back of the room to find a box with a portal in it. Go through and activate the terminal there, you'll see Jen come up on the screen, and a portal open in front of you.
- Go through the portal and you'll be met by a turret as soon as you step around the corner. Lob a grenade at it and make your way to the portal in the back of the room.
- You'll drop done into the next room with three human slaves. Two will be close to you, and one will be at the end of the room in a cubby hole. In the cubby hole is a vent you need to follow. Once on the other side, two red eyed robots will attack you.
- Look for the sun symbol on the floor. Spirit walk across the spirit bridge and deactivate the force fields that are blocking the wallwalks. Walk up the wallwalk and kill the hunter that appears in front of you. Go down the middle path and be ready for a turret that apparently doesn't want you down there.
- Continue down the vent, at the end you will be turned upside down. The gravity switch to turn you right side up is on the "ceiling" in front of you. Walk down the path and under a pipe, you should see a big force field on the ceiling above you with a gravity switch beside it. Hit the switch, and make sure your body lands on top of the force field. Spirit fall through the field to gain access to a terminal that will create a portal on the "ceiling" in front of you. Jump down from where you are now and walk forward until you're under the portal. You should see a gravity switch right behind the portal. Hit it and go through the portal.
- Walk toward the leech gun node and turn around. You should see an opening with a blinking red light emanating from it. Jump down and follow the path until you drop onto a platform. You will then be attacked by a few of those red eyed robots.
- TIP: If you can kill them quickly, you'll only face one at a time, so use an electro shock, or a grenade to knock them down.
- After you finish with them, a blue portal will open behind you. Walk through and the chapter ends.
-
Jen
- YouTube: Prey - Chapter 13 - Jen (Time: 6:42)
- Go down the path until you're stopped by a force field. Spirit walk through it and look down to find the code to the locked door in front of you (2432). Enter the code to unlock the door and bring down the force fields. The area to your left has some acid gun ammo and a health dispenser if you need it.
- Go through the door and you'll see Jen trapped in her little bubble. Turn to your right and head down the vent here. Heaven forbid Tommy jump the fifteen feet to the bottom so he can save his girlfriend.
- TIP: At the end of the vent, you'll see a hunter run past. Crawl out with something automatic and blast him and his friend away.
- Keep going in this direction until you come to another force field. Spirit walk through it and turn it off with the switch right beside it.
- Walk to the blocked door and use the severed hand on the scanner in the back of the room.
- Now one of the columns here will begin to rise, revealing a mishmash of what looks like a few human parts mixed with God knows what. Unload whatever you have into him and dodge his attacks by simply moving to the side, and you'll have him down quickly. As soon as he is dead, a second one comes to get you. Take him down and then two hellhounds will come after you.
- The force field on the door should be down now, so move forward into the next area. There are two force fields here, spirit walk through the left one and drop down into the vent. Follow it all the way to the end and jump out. There will be a human slave here working on a console. Get rid of him and activate the console to unlock the door. Zip back to your body and go down the hall to the door you just unlocked.
- To the left you should see a human slave working on another console, go towards him and then turn to the right. You should see a room with an ammo cabinet and a health dispenser. Stay in here for a tick and spirit walk out to where that human slave is. Use the console he is on to transport you to another room.
- As you come out, the exit is to your right. When you walk through the door, you will see a wallwalk and a turret that will begin to attack you. Go up the wallwalk and you'll come to what looks like a portal wannabe. Jump through it and kill the two hunters here.
- Go through the portal at the end of the hall and get ready to take on four of those mutated humans. You will be able to fight the first one by itself, but the second and third mutants will be fought together, with the fourth not far behind. Once all four are dead, the room will go dark and a portal will come down from the ceiling.
- Walk through and go through the door here to get back to where Jen is. Go up to the bubble pod and activate the terminal to release her. After Tommy finishes talking with Jen, go to your left and Elhuit will pop up on the screen. The door right beside you will unlock and a blue portal will open up inside the room. Walk through and the chapter ends.
- NOTE: It does not matter if Jen is right behind you or not, just walk through the portal.
-
The Dark Harvest
- YouTube: Prey - Chapter 14 - The Dark Harvest (Time: 5:58)
- As soon as you start, walk around the big piece of debris you're standing behind. You'll see the keeper near Jen and Elhuit. Go stand near them and listen to what Elhuit has to say.
- When the conversation is over, walk forward and you'll see the wall in the right-hand corner start to glow red.
- TIP: Get out your acid gun and wait right in front of what is about to be a new door. It will burst open and three hunters will be on the other side. Quickly take them down with the acid gun and move forward.
- As you move down the hall, you'll get to a room with a big nasty looking pipe right in front of you. Take a right and go all the way to the end. A door that you can barely see will open and the guy who opens it will get killed by a hellhound.
- Keep your acid gun out and move through the door. There is an ammo cabinet to the left when you enter. One by one hunters will teleport in front of you, so make short work of them with the acid gun and move forward.
- You have a big fight ahead of you in this next room.
- TIP: Send your spirit form down below to gather any ammo you can find, then jump down yourself and start killing.
- The fight will be at a longer range so the acid gun is no good here. You will also have two of those big minotaurs come through the portal machine. If you pummel them with auto-cannon fire and lob about three grenades at them, they will actually go down disappointingly quickly. There will also be many hunters teleporting on the side platforms, so watch out for them.
- When you're finally done fighting, you'll see a flying alien go through the portal with Jen. Then the mysterious woman will start to speak to you.
- After that the blue portal opens. Walk through and the chapter ends.
-
Following Her
- YouTube: Prey - Chapter 15 - Following Her (Time: 9:40)
- Go forward until you see Jen through the window, then take a left and activate the wallwalk. Go up the wallwalk and kill the hunter that appears. You can go through the door in front of you for a little bit of ammo, but the way out is a little crawl space a gremlin comes out of. Go in there to find a portal leading to an opened door.
- A hunter in the next room will activate an alarm as soon as you enter. You should see the alarm console straight in front of you, so kill everything in your path and shut that alarm down.
- Go through the door right next to the alarm console and spirit walk through the force field and bring the lift down to the first floor. Now put your body on the lift and spirit walk back to the console and raise the lift to the second floor.
- You'll have minimum resistance on the way up. When you reach the top go through the only door. Proceed through the dark hall way to find a gremlin, a hunter, and a room with many eye stalks. Spirit walk through the room and at the end you'll find the terminal to shut off the eye stalks.
- Now you'll come to to a room with a pit in the middle with many... "holes" on the walls. Right beside the door you just came from is a wallwalk leading to an exit on the ceiling, but it's closed. The only way to open it is to drop into the pit and fight the alien centaurs until the door opens.
- TIP: There are quite a few of them, and they like to put up these bioshields to block your attacks. You can get in close and pass through the shield to get in a few hits that way. It is also wise to use the smaller wallwalks here to move around the room, changing your point of attack regularly can give you the advantage.
- Just keep fighting and eventually they will stop coming, look up and the door at the end of the big wallwalk will be opened.
- Walk through to get the crawler launcher, the final weapon to complete your load-out. The primary fire launches crawlers (that one was hard to figure out), and the secondary launches a bioshield like what the centaurs used on you before.
- Go behind the doorway you just came from. Make your way down the hall and there will be two hunters, kill them and a section of metal will block your path. Look up and shoot the gravity switch that is right above you. But now another metal slider has blocked your path. Look past the slider and there will be another gravity switch.
- When you get past the metal obstacles, hunters will start to teleport in. Kill them and use the severed hand to unlock the door there.
- Inside the door will be a health dispenser and some ammo. Go through the door here and you'll notice a giant reactor that moves back and forth.
- Go all the way to the left and wait for the reactor to move back so you can cross at the platform there. A centaur will then break a window next to you. Go in and show him who's boss. Activate the terminal here to start up a second reactor, allowing you to cross in the same way you just did.
- When you walk out to cross the reactor, two flying aliens will teleport in, one after another. Two shots with the electro leech power is lethal (there is an electric node in the room with the terminal).
- Cross the reactor and follow the platform here to meet two hunters and another terminal. Activate the terminal to stop the laser in the second reactor. Now go back to the reactor and jump on. There will also be two flying centaurs here.
- NOTE: I was able to jump on the reactor and ride to the other side without any attention from the flying centaurs.
- Jump across and move to the other reactor. Stand in front of the opening and wait. When the second the laser stops, start moving through the tunnel.
- TIP: It may help to walk through in spirit form so you know what is in there, then go through in your physical form. Either way get to the other opening and go through the door on your right.
- This room will have a spirit bridge that leads to an open door. Spirit walk over there to find a terminal that opens a set of bars that were blocking your path before.
- Go through the now opened path and through the unlocked door. In this room you'll face regular centaurs and flying ones alike. Just keep moving and shooting and you'll be fine.
- On the other side of the pit is a couple platforms that allow you to get across to the other side. Once there, you'll have to take an explosive pod over to the door and blow it up. At this point a sniper will be across the pit, you can just ignore him and go through the door to find the blue portal. Walk through and the chapter ends.
-
The Complex
- YouTube: Prey - Chapter 16 - The Complex Part 1 (Time: 6:41) | Part 2 (Time: 6:24)
- Kill the gremlin here and unlock the door to your left. Go through the door and you'll be greeted by several snipers.
- TIP: They will sound the alarm so you'll want to get over there and shut that off. When you move forward, a hunter will teleport behind you. There is also a turret here that will only look for you if the alarm is on, another reason to shut it down.
- When they're all dead, drop through the gap in the grating here, landing on the pipes below. Crouch down and go in the direction of the door you came in. You'll see an opening with a pipe bridge allowing you to cross.
- In this area, there is a portal suspended right in front of you, a door to your right, and a wallwalk to your left. The door to the right has a health dispenser in it, and a blocked door at the end that gives you a glimpse of a new foe.
- TIP: When you come back out of the door, a couple hunters will be in the portal room. Kill them and move to the wallwalk on the left.
- As you start to go up, hunters will teleport on the wallwalk in front of you.
- NOTE: Once you get upside down, there will be a little place with ammo that is only accessible in spirit form, it'll be marked by a sun symbol.
- Get to the end of the wallwalk and drop your spirit into the room with all the eye stalks. Turn them off and drop into the room again.
- Go through the door here to find two hellhounds and two hunters. Once they are dead, walk up the stairs and you'll see a wallwalk with a hunter above you.
- Follow the linear path here and take out any hunters that teleport in. At the end of the path, you'll find a place to drop down, do so until you reach a force field. Once you're on the force field, the machine in the middle of the chamber will activate. Watch it form in front of you, and when it's done, drop through where the force field was.
- You will now be in that cube. Look right under your feet to see a glowing brick. Look right above you to see where the glowing brick needs to be. You will also see some squares on the walls that don't look like the others, these are gravity switches.
- Look at the path made out in the walls of the cube. Stand on the glowing brick and have the active gravity switch behind you. Shoot the gravity switch on the wall in front of you and the brick should move. Each time you move the brick, face it and follow the directions below
- Shoot the wall behind you
- Shoot the wall to your right.
- Shoot the wall behind you.
- Shoot the wall to your right.
- Shoot the wall to your left.
- Now shoot the wall behind you.
- Shoot the wall behind you again.
- Shoot the wall to your left.
- Shoot the wall to your left again.
- Shoot the one behind you.
- Shoot the wall to your right.
- Now shoot the wall behind you.
- The cube will now break open and you'll be upside down. There is a wallwalk jutting out from what is left of the cube, so follow that to get out of this mess.
- Follow the wallwalk all the way to the end, killing any robots that attack you. When you're at the end just jump down and walk around the corner. Guess what? You're back at the first room of the chapter.
- Drop down and go back to the portal room. It'll have a fan or something blowing toward the portal now. Jump in and you'll end up in a place with two electro nodes right beside each other.
- You'll then be attacked by a centaur and his flying cousin. When they're dead, a portal will open on one of the platforms here.
- When you go through the portal, there will be a terminal that controls a bridge. When you activate it however, it doesn't stay together long enough for you to get across. All you have to do is stand on the edge of your half of the bridge. Now spirit walk back to the terminal and put the bridge together and just walk across.
- Kill the hunters here and go through the doors. The next room will have a force field separating the room in half. Spirit walk through it and activate a terminal that will switch the gravity for a limited amount of time. There are two boxes here, one small and one big. On the same side as the time switch is the exit, but it's too high to reach. Push the boxes under the opening to make a set of stairs so you can reach it.
- TIP: It would behoove you to move the little box into the same area as the big one so you don't have to keep switching the gravity.
- Walk through the door and you'll come into a labyrinth. Walk forward and you'll see yourself pass, that is why this area is so confusing. There are portals everywhere, and they like to change. Just go where the hunters are and at some point you'll come to an unlocked door with a health spore in front of it.
- NOTE: Just for fun turn around and go left, you'll come to a mirror with a bar running across the middle. Duck under it and the mirror will slide up, revealing a really weird easter egg.
- Once you're done processing what you just saw, grab some health if you need it and return to the door. Don't worry about getting lost, no matter which way you go, you'll always end up back at the door and the "behold" easter egg.
- Go through the door and do battle with the centaurs that are in here. If you need health, there is a dispenser in the back of this area. Go forward and once everything is dead, look to your left to see these four pronged things start moving. Stand near them and spirit walk to a terminal that is behind you. Activate the terminal to flip gravity. Ride the things in front of you like an elevator.
- When you get to the bottom, walk along the wallwalk. There will be a portal at the end of the wallwalk. Go through it to bring you to the next room, which will throw one flying centaur after another at you. Once all of them are dead, roll an explosive pod to a hinge in the middle of the room. Once you have blown the webbed gunk up, drop under where it was and activate the terminal here. Now gravity will flip, and the bridge will fall, allowing you to get to a portal.
- On the other side of the portal are two landing pads for shuttles. Jump in one and take to the skies.
- TIP: Watch out for the great amount of debris flowing through your fly space.
- Go straight up and you'll come to a place you've been before. You'll be attacked by a couple centaurs, just use the tractor beam the throw them to their death. Turn to your right and there will be two more landing pads. You might have a hunter jump in a ship and attempt to take you down.
- There will be a blue door and a red door here. Go through the blue door to find the blue portal. Walk through to end the chapter.
-
Ascent
- YouTube: Prey - Chapter 17 - Ascent Part 1 (Time: 9:11) | Part 2 (Time: 8:53)
- The first thing you'll notice here is the four lasers and the ice leak that is keeping you from moving forward. Spirit walk through the barrier and activate the terminal that is right there as you pass through.
- Go through the door here and you will be attacked by several flying aliens.
- NOTE: Be careful here because there are these blue nodes that are keeping the platforms from falling. If you shoot these nodes, no more platforms, so tread carefully.
- Make your way to the other side of the area and use the severed hand to open the locked door. In this room is a terminal that opens a door you'll have to fly through in just a bit. But for now walk through the door beside it and find out just how far away from Jen you are.
- Go back outside and kill the flying alien. Go to your right and you'll find a shuttle pad. Jump in and fly to the ring you activated earlier. When you fly through it, it will catch you and take you through a transport line.
- When you're at the top, let the lasers touch you and take out the turrets that are behind you.
- TIP: Make sure you aren't tethered to the landing pad here, you can't shoot if you are.
- Now land and and go to the opposite side of the area and use the terminal here to unlock the door above you.
- Fly through the door and continue straight up, being careful not to hit the mines here. When you get to the top, look for two large screens. Below them is the door you need to get through, but it is blocked by material. Use your tractor beam (LT) to unblock access to the door. The door is guarded by quite a few eyestalks. The turrets are on both sides of you when you enter. Take them both out and proceed through the door.
- Take out the hunter before he can activate the alarm, and then land the ship. Walk over to the handprint scanner and use the severed hand to unlock the door.
- Through this door you'll find a wide-open area with a little moon in the middle. On the top of the moon are several robots and a landing pad. When you land, follow the pipes that are to your left until you get to a terminal. Activate it and watch a giant arm move down the far wall, that's where you have to get to.
- NOTE: If you didn't see the arm, then look for a spinning thing jutting out from the wall to the moon. Fly straight towards where that meets the wall and then go straight down. You'll get to a station that will move you to a higher part of the tower.
- Land on one of the pads and take out the hunters here. There is a terminal by the large window, activate it and it will open a box for you. Get back in your ship and fly down into the box you just opened. Get in the blue circle and the aforementioned arm will pick you up and move you to another area.
- You will be let out right in front of a platform with a landing pad on it. Land and take out the hunter that is here. Look beside him and activate the terminal here to start a cycle of more boxes with blue circles. Jump back into your ship and take out the flying alien that appears.
- When a box starts to form, jump in and the transport sequence will begin.
- NOTE: You will come to a sign that reads: "Plasma Discharge Ahead," and Tommy will say, "I should probably get out of here." Sound advice, fly up out of the box and look for a platform above you with a landing pad.
- Land on the pad and take out any resistance you receive. A portal will open to your right with some ammo in it, if you're running low. Otherwise move to the left and you'll come to a gap in the platform. Look up and shoot the gravity switch. Once you're over the gap, flip gravity again and walk toward the giant blue tunnel of death, you can't miss it. Spirit walk through the tunnel and look for a force field. Go through it and kill the hunter, then activate the terminal here to shut off the plasma discharge.
- Bring your body back to where you shut off the discharge. There is a health dispenser and some power nodes for the leech gun.
- Go through the door and pass the human slave. Through this next door is an eye stalk, but there is only one and you can duck under it. Notice the force field to your right. We're going to deactivate it. Move forward and take a left to open a door, which wakes a hellhound from his sleep. Keep moving forward until you get to a room with a holographic tower. The tower will have four electrical arcs emanating from four little blue nodes. Shoot all of the nodes, the room will go dark, and wraiths will start flying around.
- Turn around and go back to where that force field was, it'll be down now. Go through the door and you'll have to fight a couple centaurs in the dark. When you're done with them, look on the ceiling for a gravity switch.
- The blue portal is in a little cutout on the ceiling on the opposite end of the room then the gravity switch. Jump through to end the chapter.

Center of Gravity
- YouTube: Prey - Chapter 18 - Center Of Gravity Part 1 (Time: 7:00) | Part 2 (Time: 6:38)
- Make your way through the halls ahead, battling with the centaurs that come to greet you. Eventually you'll come to a door with a force field blocking the way. When it is safe, spirit walk through it to deactivate the terminal.
- NOTE: I say "when it's safe," because when I did this, there was a centaur that I didn't know about that snuck up behind me and put me right into the death mini game. When I came back, he was gone, and I was able to go through the field.
- Go through the door in this room and it will lock behind you. Kill the hunters that come into the room and hit the terminal at the window to raise a platform that is outside.
- One of the hunter's portals will stay put, allowing you to teleport to where the platform was raised to. Now stand on the platform and spirit walk to a spirit bridge that is next to where you teleported in. Walk across and activate the portal, which leads back into the room with the platform switch.
- Lower yourself and go through the portal arch that is on this platform. A hatch will open in front of you. Drop down and go into the next area. You'll be confronted by a couple robots and a turret. Once you have them dead, look for the crossbeam in the middle of the room. The beam will have a gravity switch on it. Make sure that you land on the crossbeam when you hit the switch. Now you need to jump below where you are now to get to a door, but there are a couple of rather large fire pits below you. Hug the wall beside you and jump down to the edge of a fire pit below.
- TIP: If want to test it out before using the body that counts (even though you can't really die), jump down in spirit form first.
- Anyway, get your real body under the crossbeam again and hit the gravity switch that is on this side. Land on the crossbeam and go through the door. Once you're in the room, said door will lock behind you, then open again and you'll be in a totally different area.
- Follow the platform until a flying alien breaks straight through it and blocks your path. Kill the alien and his buddy, then spirit walk across the spirit bridge that crosses the gap. On the other side you'll find a terminal that turns on a wallwalk.
- Go back to the door where you entered and kill the hunters that spawn there. Now face the door and go around the right side to find the beginning of the wallwalk. Follow the wallwalk, killing all in your path. When you reach the end, jump down and go to the shuttle pad on this platform. The door you need to fly through is at the very top of this area.
- In the next area is a force field protected moon and some locked bay doors. The moon has a pair of pipes connecting it to a platform with a landing pad. Land on the pad and make your way to those pipes. Spirit walk on the pipes and eventually you will get pulled into the moon's gravity.
- Near where the pipes connect is a power station that controls the force field. Deactivate it, then move to the top of the moon and use the terminal there to open the large bay doors.
- Follow the tunnel. At the end you'll see two moons connected by some pipes. Fly over to the bottom moon and land. Now travel to the southernmost part of this moon. Once there you'll see a place where you can walk along the pipes that connect the two moons.
- When you're on the second moon, walk straight until you come to a terminal that controls some plasma dischargers on the top of this area.
- To get off this moon, you'll have to use the other set of pipes. Get back on the bottom moon and back in your ship.
- Now fly up towards the dischargers you activated earlier. When one is about to finish discharging, it will stay open long enough for you to get in it. Once you're in it, the door will close and another door on the side will open. Go through here and straight up to find the way out.
- You will now come to a large room with a reactor in it. There are many slabs of metal floating around the core. What you need to do is shoot the slabs at the point where they meet the arc of the reactor, then they will break away. If your ship starts to run low on juice during all this, there are several docking stations around this room. Destroy all the slabs and then the core will be left with one side open to attack. There will be about four or five rings around the core. Shoot these to destroy the core.
- Once the core is destroyed, there will be a hole at the top of the room. Follow it all the way to the end and you'll see a landing pad.
- Land your ship and a blue portal will open on the platform. Walk through it to end the chapter.

Resolutions
- YouTube: Prey - Chapter 19 - Resolutions Part 1 (Time: 6:00) | Part 2 (Time: 5:39)
- This is where the game really starts getting good. Go straight ahead and listen to what the woman has to say, then move forward to a fork in the road. Left gives you ammo, and right gives you the door you're looking for.
- Go into the next room to find out how extremely little progress you have made. Go to the other side of the room and exit through the door.
- You will now be in a room with quite a few portals. Walk forward and you'll be trapped for a little while. When you can move again, spirit walk over the bridge to get across. Go to the right and across the real bridge here. Flip the switch and the bridge will move to where your body is.
- Walk across and stand on the section of wallwalk that is to your left. Spirit walk again to the switch you flipped before and flip it again. The section of wallwalk will take you to the next level.
- Go back to your body and walk straight ahead to the other section of wallwalk. Now spirit walk to the switch that is on this level and flip it.
- Move your body to the next section of wallwalk that is to your right. Now spirit walk back to the switch you flipped to get to this side, and flip it again.
- Move forward through the now opened door and through the portal that the woman has opened. Keep walking forward and you'll see how much progress you have suddenly made. Walk through the door to your left and go through the portal here.
- NOTE: As soon as you land, you'll be attacked by centaurs. You will also find a new type of ammo for the leech gun. This ammo turns the leech gun into an obliterating monster of glory and awe!
- Anyway, kill the enemies here and go through the door in the left-hand corner. Battle your way through this room until you reach the end. There is a terminal at the end that opens a door in the other section of this area.
- There will be a wallwalk waiting for you at the now opened door. Follow it down and jump into the pit below for a rousing good fight. Centaurs, their flying cousins, and mutant humans all join in for the fun.
- Once you finish the fight, a blue portal will open. Walk through to find the next boss.
-
Boss: The Creature
- This next fight is a pretty good one. There are two leech guns attached to the creature's arms that have all the different ammo types. These leech guns will be it's main attacks.
- Use one of your weaker weapons to start off. The reason I say this is because after you've put a little dent into the health bar, the creature will deploy two purple nodes that heal it.
- When these nodes are deployed, focus your attacks on one of them until it is destroyed. When it does blow up, it will destroy one of the leech guns as well. They don't stay out forever, so it may take you a few times to destroy them.
- Do this to both sides and you will finally be able to hurt this thing. Now use your best stuff on the creature and it won't last too long.
- Once the creature is down, the chapter will end after a little dialogue.

Oath of Vengeance
- YouTube: Prey - Chapter 20 - Oath Of Vengeance (Time: 4:10)
- Follow the path to get to your grandfather at the four hawk statues. He will then direct you to the spirit cave. Go to the circular door behind Enisi and follow the path to the spirit cave. When you get there you'll get a health upgrade.
- Enisi will call you back to the courtyard. Go back and be ready to fight as soon as Enisi finishes talking. Take down all the enemies that come your way and eventually a blue portal will open.
- Walk through the portal to end the chapter.
-
Facing the Enemy
- YouTube: Prey - Chapter 21 - Facing The Enemy Part 1 (Time: 8:00) | Part 2 (Time: 7:25)
- When you start, you'll get another huge fight on your hands. The only way to get past it is to roll up your sleeves and get dirty.
- Once you do finish the battle, a portal will open leading you to a control room. Use the severed hand to unlock the door and proceed.
- Now a big spinning device will be blocking your path. On each side is a button that opens one half of the door to the meat of the device. Get out the crawler launcher and press both buttons. Time your shot right and nail the inside of the device. When you hit it, it'll drop down.
- Spirit walk over the spirit bridge here and hit the button to lower a bridge. Go down the path and kill the gremlins here. Use the severed hand on the door and kill the flying aliens in here.
- There are two switches in here, they are quite far apart and need to be activated in succession. What you need to do is stand at one switch. Now spirit walk to the other, press the button, then pop back into your body and press that button. Now get on the lift before it has a chance to rise back up.
- NOTE: When you get to the top, there will be a big row of ammo and health, if that isn't a hint of what is about to come, then I don't know what is. Walk in and let the battle begin.
- Meet the Keeper, but before you'll be able fight him, he'll use his minions to "keep" you from him. The Keeper will summon quite a few enemies for you to destroy. Everything from mutated humans, to a minotaur, and even an easier version of the Jen monster. Defeat them all to get the Keeper to come down to the arena.
-
Boss: The Keeper
- The Keeper is actually the easiest boss yet. If you still have some gold leech gun power then this battle will be over in less than a minute.
- His attacks range from shooting psychic balls at you, to shooting psychic balls at you. If you last long enough, some lasers will start shooting about. But really, if you can get a powerful weapon to him early on in the fight, it's over basically before it begins.
- Once the Keeper is dead, the woman will teleport you to another room. Use the rails as a funnel to guide you to the section of wall that will disappear when you walk close to it. Enter this room to find a health dispenser and some ammo. The next room will have two more Keepers to fight. The most annoying thing about these Keepers is that they teleport around, so keeping up with them can be a challenge. There are a couple gold leech nodes here so make short work of these Keepers and move on. If you don't feel like fighting, if you move fast you can just ignore them.
- As you move up, more Keepers will greet you. Move to the wallwalk in the corner and go to the ceiling.
- In this next room a ridiculous amount of Keepers will start flooding into your area. You can just ignore them and move to the end of the path to find a portal leading out of this area. The next room will still have a few Keepers, but not nearly as many, some hunters and hellhounds are also thrown in for good measure.
- Once you reach the end of the path, after a little bit of dialogue, a blue portal will open. Walk through and the chapter ends.
-
Mother's Embrace
- YouTube: Prey - Final Chapter 22 - Mother's Embrace Part 1 (Time: 7:31) | Part 2 (Time: 6:41)
- The first thing you'll probably want to do is grab some health at the dispenser in front of you. Then take a right and proceed to the giant sphere.
- The vehicle you get access to has two features. The primary fire controls an electric arc, and the secondary fire pushes the craft forward towards the sphere. What you need to do is light the little doodads (nice terminology eh?) on the outside of the sphere. To do this, simply push yourself towards an unlit doodad (okay, how about nodes?) and press RT to light it ablaze. The unlit nodes are the ones with the little blue arcs coming from them. A couple of nodes are already lit, and they will have a yellow arc to them. You'll know when you've lit one because it will glow orange. Light them all and you will be sucked towards the sphere.
- Once you are inside, you'll need to break the glass on Mother's sphere. Go into spirit mode and shoot the panes of glass. Once you have done that, shoot the now glowing panes with a regular weapon. As you do this, hunters will teleport in to stop you. Break all the panes in this way and Talon will start to do his thing around the sphere.
- You will then be transported to another dimension, along with the last boss.
-
Boss: Mother
- Now you have to fight Mother. The two attacks she will use the most are a bomb-dropping run around the battlefield, and an all out red haze directed towards you.
- She has a protective shield around her, so bullets won't do anything to her until you bring down the shield. Around the battlefield there are a couple stations that, when activated, produce an explosive mine. While she is flying around, deploy a mine and wait for her to get close. When she is within range, shoot the mine and she'll scream. Immediately start to throw whatever you have at her. The shield won't be down long so get back to a station and deploy another mine. Do this several times and eventually she will fall.
- TIP: If you take cover behind the mine stations, you can effectively dodge most (if not all) of her attacks.
- When she's dead, sit back and enjoy the show.
- After the credits, a blue portal will appear. Walk through the portal to end the game.
