Debates Commission
The Commission on Presidential Debates was founded jointly by the Republican and Democratic parties in 1987. The non-profit, nonpartisan organization sponsors and produces the events, to guarantee their objectivity and fairness. The Commission has admitted only one third-party candidate to its presidential debates: Ross Perot in 1992.
