  • The company Predators in Action is owned by award-winning stuntman Randy Miller. The company provides trained animals, stunt performers and animal handlers for Hollywood films, and boasts training facilities located in the San Bernadino Mountains near Los Angeles, California.
  • Company Background

Miller won a World Stunt Award in 2000 for his work doubling for Russell Crowe in Gladiator. The company has also provided animals and expertise for the films The Postman, The Island of Dr. Moreau, Back to the Future 3 and The Last Samurai and has recreated scenes of animal attacks for TV documentaries. Besides bears, Predators in Action trains lions, tigers, leopards, cougars and wolves.
  • 2008 Bear Attack

On April 22 of 2008, Randy Miller's cousin Stephan was killed by Rocky, a trained grizzly bear who had appeared in the film Semi-Pro, starring Will Ferrell. The bear had allegedly lunged at Miller, biting him on the neck and killing him. The eventual fate of the bear, which was finally subdued by two other Predators in Action employees armed with pepper spray, has not yet been decided.
