Portland OR Vacation

Portland is the largest city in Oregon by population. The city's weather makes for the perfect climate for rose growing, giving them the nickname of "The City of Roses."

Portland OR has many wonderful attractions, and no matter what time of the year you visit, there is always something to do. Museums such as Portland Art Museum and the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry, are very popular. Visit the Oregon Zoo, the Portland Japanese Garden, and the International Rose Test Garden and enjoy the beauty of the city. If traveling with your family, stop by the Oaks Amusement Park, and enjoy food, rides and fun for the afternoon.

No matter what time of the year you visit, you can find a festival or event happening. June offers The Rose Festival, when floral arrangements come alive in the Grand Floral Parade. The Mt. Hood Festival of Jazz is in August, and brings over 30 hours of music from local jazz musicians. In May you can enjoy The Cinco De Mayo Fiesta, help celebrate this event by enjoying food, music, dance, arts and crafts and carnival rides for all to enjoy.
