Portia de Rossi is a television and film actress. Originally born in Australia as Amanda Lee Rogers, she has made a name for herself from her roles on two American television shows. She played the role of attorney Nell Porter on the FOX television series Ally McBeal, and as ditsy yet desirable Lindsay Bluth Funke on Arrested Development. She is married to talk show host Ellen DeGeneres

Career
de Rossi's first acting role was in the 1994 film Sirens. She went on to appeared in several other films including Scream 2 and Stigmata. In 1999, she began a recurring role on the popular series Ally McBeal, where she played the love interest of the reclusive John Cage (played by Peter MacNicol). After Ally, she again struck gold on the quirky FOX series Arrested Development.
Dancing with Ellen
De Rossi announced to the world she was gay in 2005, but had been carrying on a four year relationship with musician Francesca Gregorini. She married talk show/comedian Ellen DeGeneres on August 17, 2008.
